Fiesta Week 2025: A Vibrant Celebration of Culture and Community!

What a week to remember! Fiesta Week 2025 brought Oshawa together in the most colourful, delicious, and musical way possible. And we’re still buzzing from all the energy, smiles, and cultural pride.

🌟 Highlights from This Year’s Fiesta

The Return of the Acropolis Pavilion

After a brief hiatus, we were thrilled to welcome back the Greek “Acropolis” Pavilion! Guests were treated to delicious Greek food, lively dancing, and a warm celebration of Hellenic heritage that felt like home.

Les Gens du Nord at the French-Canadian Pavilion

A standout moment was the high-energy performance by Les Gens du Nord — their rhythm, soul, and serious accordion skills had the French-Canadian Pavilion clapping, stomping, and singing along. A truly unforgettable experience that celebrated the richness of French-speaking cultures

Beer Flights and Live Music at Club Loreley

Saturday at Club Loreley was a hit with the return of their authentic Beer Garden! Guests sampled traditional beer flights and enjoyed live music in a festive, family-friendly outdoor setting that kept spirits high all night long.

Sounds of Steel at Club Carib

The crowd couldn’t get enough of the infectious rhythms from the Sounds of Steel steel pan band! Their vibrant Caribbean energy had the whole pavilion moving and brought a truly tropical vibe to the week.

Boxing at the Odesa Pavilion

One of this year’s brand new performances came from the Ukrainian Odesa Pavilion, where dancers debuted a humorous twist on the traditional Boxing Dance. With theatrical punches, clever choreography, and perfectly timed comedy, the routine had the audience laughing, clapping, and asking for more. A fun and unforgettable moment that blended culture with creativity!

A Show-Stopping Finale at the Romanian Pavilion

The Romanian Pavilion closed out Fiesta Week with a one-night-only cultural celebration featuring a breathtaking live concert by Enescu and a dynamic dance performance by Doina, the acclaimed ensemble from Hamilton. Paired with one last plate of mititei and sweet Romanian desserts, this unforgettable evening was a perfect blend of music, movement, and flavour to end the week on a high note!

🍽️ Fiesta Week Flavours: A Culinary Journey Around the World

One of the most anticipated parts of Fiesta Week is always the food — and 2025 delivered in every bite. Across Oshawa, pavilion kitchens served up authentic dishes made with care, tradition, and plenty of flavour.

From sizzling Caribbean jerk chicken and perfectly grilled mititei to hearty eggplant parmigiana, and savoury frango assado, every menu offered a taste of culture and comfort.

Guests lined up for:

  • Cabbage rolls and mititei at the Romanian Pavilion

  • Oxtail, King Fish & Snapper, and roti at Club Carib

  • Pasticio, gyros, and baklava at the Acropolis Pavilion

  • Polish sausage, Flaczki, and Polish donuts at Poznań

  • Ham hock, schnitzel, and ice-cold beer flights at Loreley

  • Arancini, cheese cannelloni, and home made tiramisu at the Roma Pavilion

  • Tourtière and pouding chômeur at the French Canadian Pavilion

  • The controversial Ukrainian Poutine at Lviv

For many, it was a chance to reconnect with family recipes or try something entirely new. Whether you visited one pavilion or filled your Fiesta Passport with stamps, this year’s culinary offerings reminded us that food is one of the most powerful ways to share and celebrate culture.

👑 Spotlight on Our Pavilion Queens & Mini Misses

Throughout Fiesta Week 2025, our Pavilion Queens and Mini Misses brought culture to life — not just as ambassadors, but as active performers, storytellers, and proud representatives of their communities.

These young ambassadors lit up every stage they stepped onto — whether they were introducing performances, greeting guests, or taking part in the shows themselves. Many danced, sang, or performed traditional pieces at their home pavilions, adding a deeply personal and authentic touch to the cultural celebrations. Their energy and enthusiasm brought smiles to every audience and highlighted the incredible talent nurtured within our community.

They truly embodied what Fiesta Week is all about: celebrating diversity, unity, and the next generation of cultural leaders.

💫 Thank you to every Pavilion Queen and Mini Miss for sharing your heritage with Oshawa — you made your pavilions proud and left a lasting impression on everyone who attended!
